摆在我面前的黎先生众多画幅，是他积其几十年功力、心血的见证。人生不易，像他们这一辈所经历的战乱、贫困生活之艰辛的历史，到今天能拿出那么多丰盛而璀灿的好作品，更属不易。

　　黎明先生的画艺向有灵气，他从少年就得到高剑父的器重，高师曾经柱杖敲其父之门，迫不及待硬将他从澳门抓回广州“春睡”门下，可见其师爱才之心切。

　　黎先生早期作品，功力深厚，沉雄大度，灵气满纸，酷肖其师。其写生功底、造型能力于那个时代来说，也算凤毛麟角。其自由之用笔，松紧有序，画得随意潇洒而又不像我们当下某些一勾就死的笔划。

　　他的新作又有飞跃，越画越好，最近我有幸先睹，不禁击节叫绝。浑厚、疏朗、娴熟，结构严谨而不失性灵;法度突破、新奇大胆是新作的特点，画也达到新奇独树的另一境界。能突破，画格也提升至自如地随心所欲。黎明先生的画就告诉我们，他能达到这种从心所欲，达到这般比较自由自如的心境。画中所表现的“山穷水尽疑无路，柳暗花明又一村”那一种“置之死地而后生”的艺术营造境界。寻寻觅觅，几许辛苦，多少人想到达这种理想、这种心境!又多少人却抱憾终生!黎先生能有，除了个人努力之外，乃高剑父师之亲炙，使他终生受用。

　　Mr. Lai’s paintings showed in front of me are the demonstration of his years of painstaking efforts. Like is difficult for everyone, especially for their generation of people who have experienced hardship of wars and poverty. It is even more difficult for them to produce so many wonderful works.

　　Mr. Lai Ming’s paintings have a special verve. Since he was young, he was highly expected by his teacher Gao Jianfu. Mr. Gao used to knock the door of Lai Ming’s family with his crutch and took him back to Guangzhou from Macau, which shows his teacher’s concept of valuing talents. Mr. Lai’s early works are vigorous and identical to his teacher’s works. His sketching and depicting skills were something extremely rare in his times. His free and well-balanced style made his paintings casual and decent, not like some current paintings which are not sustainable.

　　Meanwhile, Lai Ming is making progress in his new works. I had the honor to see his works lately and felt so amazed at them. His works are characterized by vigor, brightness, finesse and the rigorous and delicate composition. Being innovative and creative, his paintings are extremely fresh. Mr. Lai Ming’s paintings show us that he has his own way to compose his works and has the free state of mind. His special realm of art---like a phoenix from ashes---is fully illustrated in his paintings. Although many people dream to have this state of mind and die with regrets, Mr. Lai has it because of his individual efforts and the skills learnt from his teacher Gao Jianfu, which benefit him for a lifelong time.
